There’s a batch of new shows on tap at the Calvin Theater in Northampton, including Chris Isaak on Tuesday, December 7 ($49.50, $59.50), Amos Lee for a New Year’s Eve show on Friday, December 31 ($28.50, $38.50) and country music great Loretta Lynn on Saturday, March 5 ($49.50, $59.50).

Meanwhile, the folks at the Palace Theatre in Albany are hoping that you’re in the mood for some laughs on New Year’s Eve, as the theater hosts “First Night of Funny” at 8pm on Friday, December 31, featuring four stand-up comics – John DiCrosta, Ross Bennett, Buddy Fitzpatrick and Sherry Davey. Tix are $22 in advance; $32 at the door.

And there are more laughs in store at the Palace when Mike Epps steps into the spotlight at 7pm on Sunday, March 6. Opening the show will be Bruce Bruce. Priced at $37 and $45, tix are now on sale to Palace members and will go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday.

Ha! Ha! Ha!: Comedian Jo Koy – as seen on “Chelsea Lately” – rolls into The Egg in Albany at 8pm on Friday, January 7. Tix are $28.

Need still more chuckles during these dark, down-trodden days? Pakistani comedian Kumail Nanjiani comes to the rescue at MASS MoCA in North Adams at 8pm on Friday, February 5. Maybe you’ve seen him on “Saturday Night Live,” “The Late Show with David Letterman” or “The Colbert Report.” Or maybe not. But you should have… Tix are $12 in adavnce; $16 at the door; students $10.

Iconoclastic singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock performs his music, while legendary record producer Joe Boyd (who’s been intimately involved with such iconic bands as Pink Floyd, the Incredible String Band, Nick Drake, Fairport Convention and 10,000 Maniacs) reads from his fascinating book, “White Bicycles.” Damn, that sounds like a wonderful evening’s entertainment… At MASS MoCA in North Adams at 8pm on Saturday, March 12. Tix are $18 in advance; $22 day of show; $28 priority.

Singer-songwriter Willie Nile returns to The Linda in Albany for a concert at 8pm on Saturday, February 19. Details TBA.

SOLD OUT: The Dweezil Zappa Plays Zappa concert at The Egg in Albany on Thursday, December 16 is now officially sold out.

OPENERS: Fitz & the Tantrums will be opening for Michael Franti & Spearhead for their re-scheduled concert at Northen Lights in Clifton Park at 8pm on Friday, January 21. Tix are $25 in advance; $27 at the door.
