Club Helsinki Hudson in Hudson ushers in 2011 with a special New Year’s Eve bash on Friday, December 31 featuring klezmer-Gypsy-rock band Golem. The music gets underway at 9pm with opening act the Raya Brass Band. Admission is $35.

The Bearsville Theater in Woodstock has added to its 2011 concert calendar with shows by the fabulous Syd Straw at 9pm on Saturday, February 12 ($25); Dr. Dog at 9pm on Monday, February 14 ($20); Jeffrey Gaines at 9pm on Friday, February 18 ($20); the Big Takeover’s CD release party at 8pm on Saturday, February 19 ($10); and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason at 9pm on Saturday, March 5 ($40, $50).

WGNA-FM has announced the line-up for its 2011 Rising Star Concert Series at Proctors in Schenectady. The three-concert series will feature Joanna Smith on Thursday, January 13; the husband and wife duo Thompson Square on Thursday, March 10; and James Wesley on Thursday, April 21. The concerts start at 7:30pm, and admission is $17 per show.

Also looking into the new year, Northern Lights in Clifton Park has booked Bayside with the Sleeping, Terrible Things and State Champs at 7:30pm on Friday, January 14 ($13 in advance; $15 at the door); Hinder with Saving Abel, My Darkest Days and Kopek at 7:30pm on Tuesday, February 1 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door – on sale Saturday); White Chapel with Acacia Strain, Veil of Maya, Chelsea Grin and I Declare War at 7pm on Thursday, February 17 ($16 in advance; $18 at the door – on sale Friday); the Jagermeister Music Tour featuring Buckcherry and Hellyeah with All That Remains and the Damned Things at 6:30pm on Friday, February 18 ($35.50 in advance; $38 at the door); the Dirty Work Tour featuring All Time Low, Yellowcard, Hey Monday and Summer Set at 6:30pm on Thursday, May 5. ($25 – on sale Friday).

CANCELLED: The Mighty Diamonds have cancelled their performance which was originally slated to take place at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on Saturday. The theater is going ahead with its Holiday Reggae Bash, however, with Robanic (featuring Aston Ellis on steel drums) in the headlining slot. The Paper Planets Dub Experience will also perform. Showtime is 9pm, and tix are $20.

CANCELLED, PART II: The Christmas reunion concert by the Irish Tenors (featuring Finbar Wright, Anthony Kearns and Ronan Tynan) – which was originally slated to take place at the Palace Theatre in Albany at 8pm on Saturday – has been cancelled. Refunds are available at the place of purchase.
