Lionheart Vs. Lionheart on Friday

Lionheart vs. Lionheart

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, moms and dads, boys and girls.

This Friday evening right here in Nippertown – in fact just a couple of blocks away from each other in Albany – it’s the Battle Royale between Lionheart and Lionheart.

Can your heart stand it? As Sparks likes to sing, “This town ain’t big enough for the both of us!” And at the end of the night perhaps there will be only one Lionheart left standing…

In this corner, it’s Lionheart, one of America’s leading ensembles of vocal chamber music, raising their voices in harmony to sing selections from their holiday CD, “Tydings Trew: A Medieval English Christmas,” at the College of Saint Rose’s Massry Center. Showtime is 7:30pm, and admission is $20.

And in this corner, from northern California, it’s Lionheart, the hardcore quintet led by vocalist Rob Watson. They’re kicking out the jams at Bogie’s in Albany, sharing the stage with headliners Madball, as well as Bitter End, All for Revenge and Glory. Showtime is 7pm, and admission is $12 in advance; $15 at the door.

Shake hands, and come out singing. May the best Lionheart win…

After the shows I think the members of both Lionheart groups should head over to the Lionheart Pub, just a few blocks away on Madison, for a few Lowenbraus.
