MUSIC: “Melodies of Christmas” @ Proctors, Schenectady. It’s the 31st anniversary of the annual holiday extravaganza featuring the Empire State Youth Orchestra, Youth Choral, the Northeast Ballet, the Orlando School of Dance, Arthur DeLuke and the roots-rockin’ Professor Louie & the Crowmatix. Proceeds benefit the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. 7pm. $25. (Through Sunday)

MUSIC: The Commander Cody Band @ the Iron Horse Music Hall, Northampton. The piano pounding’ Commander always brings the roadhouse honky-tonkin’ boogie woogie. With Stewart James & the Memphis Flyers. 7pm. $15 in advance; $18 at the door.

MUSIC: The Arch Stanton Quartet @ the Midtown Tap & Tea Room, Albany. A special holiday jazz show with guest vocalist Michelle Caminos joining in the festivities. 7:30pm. FREE.
