Veteran guitar virtuoso and sonic explorer Robin Trower is headed back into The Egg in Albany at 8pm on Wednesday, June 8. Priced at $33.75 and $43.75, tix are slated to go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday, January 14.

Wye Oak – the Baltimore indie folk-rock duo of Andy Stack and Jenn Wasner – won’t be dropping their third album for Merge Records til early March, but the twosome heads into Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany on Sunday, January 30, on a night off from their current tour with the Decemberists. Joining them will be We Are Jeneric, Que Caro and If Madrid.

The MCLA Blues & Funk Festival takes place at 7:30pm on Friday, February 4 at the Massachusetts’ College of Liberal Arts’ Venable Gymnasium in North Adams. New Orleans music scene veterans Papa Grows Funk and Benny Turner are the featured performers.General admission tix for the public are $12.

Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs has added another new show for next month – the Sam Kininger Band on Saturday, January 29. Doors open at 8pm, and tickets are $10.

SOLD OUT: The Michael Franti & Spearhead concert – which was re-scheduled to take place at Northern Lights in Clifton Park at 8pm on Friday, January 21 – is now officially sold out. Fitz & the Tantrums will open the show.

SOLD OUT, PART II: Meanwhile, that same weekend – on Saturday, January 22 – the solo acoustic concert by Citizen Cope at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock is alo sold out.

POSTPONED: The concert by the Wu-Tang Clan – which was originally slated to take place at Northern Lights in Clifton Park on Monday, December 27 – was postponed due to the snow storm earlier this week. The concert has been re-scheduled for Thursday, January 13, and all tickets purchased for the original date will be honored on the re-scheduled date.

POSTPONED, PART II: The same storm also postponed the Baird Hersey & Prana’s performance of their “A Moment of Peace” concert at Upstate Films in Woodstock. The concert has been re-scheduled for 2pm on Sunday. Admission is $11.
