MUSIC: The Tartan Terrors @ the Eighth Step at Proctors, Schenectady. Celtic music, comedy and dance all rolled into one big, thoroughly entertaining, high energy package. 7:30pm. $25.

MUSIC: The Elvis Birthday Bash @ The Linda, Albany. Featuring Mark Gamsjager and the Lustre Kings with Johnny Rabb as they cruise through the vast catalog of the King of Rock and Roll. But do they dare break into “Do the Clam”? 8pm. $20.

MUSIC: Tao Seeger & Friends @ Club Helsinki Hudson, Hudson. What do you get when you combine Pete Seeger’s grandson and Pinetop Perkins’ guitarist with members of Railroad Earth and Hot Tuna. Find out tonight… 9pm. $18.

MUSIC: The I/O Fest @ Williams College’s Greylock Hall, Williamstown. The final day of the three-day fest of new, adventurous music kicks off with a matinee featuring the Williams Percussion Ensemble, the Williams Jazz Ensemble and the Opus Zero Band performing works by Sun Ra and Karlheinz Stockhausen. 1pm. MUSIC: The I/O Fest @ Williams College’s ’62 Center, Williamstown. The three day fest of adventurous music concludes with the I/O Ensemble and the Opus Zero Band performing works by Michel van der Aa, Louis Andriessen and Bernhard Lang. 8pm. FREE.

OPERA ON FILM: “La Fanciulla Del West” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Live broadcast of Metropolitan Opera’s production of Puccini’s wild west opera starring Deborah Voight and Marcello Giordani. 1pm. $25; children $15. MUSIC: The Smulyan-Lalama Quartet @ Professor Java’s Coffee Sanctuary, Colonie. Baritone sax master Gary Smulyan teams up with tenor saxman Ralph Lalama, bassist Lou Smaldone and drummer Joe Barna for an evening of high-flying jazz. 7:30pm.

MUSIC: Dominic Fallacaro @ the Van Dyck, Schenectady. Pianist-composer-producer and Niskayuna native Fallacaro was playing the prestigious Van Dyck when he was in high school. Now based in Brooklyn, he’s headed back for a pair of homecoming shows tonight with his trio in support of his recently released debut album, “Collected.” 7:30 & 9:30pm. $10 in advance; $12 at the door.

MUSIC: The Mike Perkins Project @ Putnam Den, Saratoga Springs. The classic rockers play a benefit for the Saratoga Rowing Association. Doors at 8pm.

FASHION/MUSIC: Cranman’s Rock N Roll Fashion Show @ Northern Lights, Clifton Park. Music by the Erotics, Public Noise Concern, Selfish Needy Creatures. Doors open at 7pm. $10 in advance; $13 at the door.

MUSIC: Skip Parsons’ Riverboat Jazz Band @ the Fountain, Albany. This is what we call a serious residency. Since starting in January, 1971, clarinetist Parsons and his New Orleans-style traditional jazz band have been playing one weekend a month at the Fountain – every month for 40 years. Now that’s something to celebrate! 10pm.

MUSIC: Steve Gillette and Cindy Mangsen. Bennington husband and wife folk duo, whose songs have been recorded by everyone from Gordon Lightfoot to Garth Brooks. 8pm. $15 in advance; $17 at the door.

AUDITIONS: “Sarah, Plain & Tall” @ the Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Averill Park. The Circle Theatre Players are holding auditions for “Sarah, Plain & Tall,” which runs from March 25-April 3. Seeking three men and three women between 20-40 years old. 2:30pm. FREE.
