LIVE: Danielle Bouchard @ Borders, 1/7/11

While the radio and television weather forecasts were incessantly warning travelers of the perils of driving anywhere during the swirling snowpocalypse, the Borders Cafe in the Village Plaza Shopping Center in Clifton Park was jam packed last Friday evening.
The attraction? Young singer-songwriter Danielle Bouchard, who led her trio in a performance showcasing a soulful mix of cover tunes and original songs. The occasion was the CD release celebration for Bouchard’s debut five-song EP, “What We Can’t Erase” on the Louisville indie label Little Heart Records.
A 2008 Shenendehowa High School graduate now studying at Pace University, the 21-year-old Bouchard was accompanied by two other Shen grads, violinist Elyse Burke and electric keyboardist Hannah Hill.
Winsome and lovely, Bouchard sang and strummed her guitar, delivering an impassioned and honest performance that landed somewhere between folk music and acoustic roots-Americana.

We loved the originals by Danielle, especially the haunting “Embers” complemented so beautifully by the violin. Elyse was spectacular and Hanna’s strong voice and harmonies added to the overall quality—great show! Buy the EP or download the songs from itunes or amazon-so worth it!
