Trey Anastasio Band Heads into Albany
Yes, the Phish guitarist is headed back out on the road next month and the second date of the tour will bring him to Albany for a concert at the Palace Theatre on Saturday, February 19. According to Anastasio’s website doors will open at 6:30pm; showtime is 8:30pm. (NOTE: The Palace website lists showtime as 7:30pm.)
The concert tour is officially being called “A Very Special Acoustic and Electric Evening with Trey Anastasio and the Trey Anastasio Band,” which is, of course, a bit long-winded. But the upcoming road-trip marks Anastasio’s first tour with full acoustic and electric sets since 1999.
The electric set will feature the return of the septet incarnation of the Trey Anastasio Band that debuted on his 2010 winter tour, comprising Russ Lawton (drums), Saratoga Springs’ own Tony Markellis (bass), Ray Paczkowski (keyboards), Russell Remington (tenor saxophone and flute), Jennifer Hartswick (trumpet and vocals) and Natalie Cressman (trombone and vocals).
Tix for the Albany show are slated to go on sale to the general public at 11am on Friday, January 21.
