Want to get down with some serious Mardi Gras partying? This very well may be the best Mardi Gras party north of Bourbon Street – Dr. John & the Lower 911 in concert at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at 8pm on Tuesday, March 8. That’s Fat Tuesday. Mardi Gras night. And just a week before Dr. John is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Tix are $45, $55 & $70. Best. Mardi Gras. Ever.

Other new shows on the Bearsville Theater calendar include Mamalama at 9pm on Friday, February 11 ($10); the return of Lorenza Ponce at 9pm on Friday, March 11 ($15); and the Terry Adams Rock & Roll Quartet at 9pm on Saturday, April 2 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door); Shawn Mullins at 9pm on Saturday, April 23 ($20, $25, $35, $50).

Country radio station 104.9-FM The Cat celebrates its first anniversary with a free concert by Nashville hitmaker Steve Azar at 8pm on Friday, February 25 at Northern Lights in Clifton Park. Local country faves Skeeter Creek open the show. Doors open at 7pm.

Other new shows at Northern Lights include Born of Osiris and Darkest Hour co-headlining the Atticus Metal Tour with As Blood Runs Black, the Human Abstract, This or the Apocalypse and Tides of Tangiers at 6pm on Sunday. March 27 ($15 in advance; on sale at 10am Friday); and the return of Sublime tribute band Badfish with Scotty Don’t at 7:30pm on Saturday, April 16 ($15 in advance; on sale at 10am Saturday).

Singer, pianist, guitarist and trumpeter Suede runs the musical gamut from jazz to blues to pop ‘n’ soul as she returns to the Eighth Step at Proctors in support of her latest album, “Dangerous Moods.” The new addition to the Eighth Step calendar takes place at 7:30pm on Saturday, February 5.

Sold out: The twice-postponed performance by Jared Leto and his band 30 Seconds to Mars – which is slated to take place at Northern Lights in Clifton Park at 8pm Friday, February 4 – is now officially sold out. Middle Class Rut opens the show.
