Mirk Kickstarts Music Video

Soul-rockin’ hip-hopsters Mirk – formerly known as Mirk & the New Familiars – are forging ahead with the making of their upcoming studio album, which is tentatively slated for a spring release.

In conjunction with the album, the band is planning a music video for the album’s first single, “Away,” and as so many bands are doing these days, Mirk is turning to its fan base for financial support. Mirk has begun a Kickstarter campaign to raise $2,500 to make the music video with producer Picture Perfect, who also filmed Mirk’s debut video “Forbidden”:

Over at Mirk’s Kickstarter web page, fans are invited to contribute at various price levels and receive various rewards from the band. Pledge $25, and receive Mirk’s previous two albums and two music videos on a flash card. Pledge $100, and earn a spot as an extra in the upcoming video shoot. Pledge $750, and Mirk will come to your house to cook breakfast for you.

Mirk is hoping to raise $2,500 by Saturday, February 19, and they’re already halfway to their goal.

Meanwhile, Mirk has made their 2010 album, “Love/Live: A 2pt Trilogy,” available for free download.

ALSO AT KICKSTARTER: Nippertown art-rockers Alta Mira are also in the midst of their own Kickstarter fund drive. They are hoping to raise $5,000 to finish recording their sophomore album. They are halfway to their goal, but there are only five days left in the pledge drive.
