Valentine’s Day Is a Laugh
Or at the very least it would seem that Valentine’s Day is a laughing matter.
There’s more stand-up comedy around Nippertown this weekend than you usually find in an entire month.
Here’s a sampling of a few of the laugh-makers scheduled to make a yuk-stop here this weekend:
FRIDAY: Kevin Meaney with Joe Bublewicz at the Comedy Works at the Dewitt Clinton Building in Albany. Dinner at 6pm; show at 7pm. $45.95 for dinner and show package. Also at the Comedy Works at the Best Western Albany Airport Inn in Colonie at 9pm. $20 in advance; $25 at the door.
FRIDAY: Lou & Peter Berryman @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Comic folk-singing duo. 8pm. $16 in advance; $18 at the door.
FRIDAY: Chris Monty @ the Van Dyck, Schenectady. With Tina Giorgi. 8pm. $14.
SATURDAY: Kevin Meaney with Joe Bublewicz at the Comedy Works at the Starting Gate Bar & Grill in Saratoga Springs at 7:30pm; $20 in advance; $25 at the door. Also at the Comedy Works at the Best Western Albany Airport Inn in Colonie at 9pm; $20 in advance; $25 at the door.
SATURDAY: The Laugh Staff @ the Palace Theatre, Albany, featuring Robert Kelly, Kelly MacFarland, Joe Bronzi and Marion Grodin. 8pm; $25 in advance; $35 at the door.
And there are two different performances on both Friday and Saturday evenings at Skidmore College’s Bernhard Theater in Saratoga Springs, as Skidmore hosts the annual National College Comedy Festival.
Unfortunately, the performance by Avner the Eccentric, which was originally slated to take place at the Palace Theatre in Albany on Sunday, has been cancelled.
