THEATER ON FILM: “King Lear” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. In a simulcast from the National Theatre of London, Michael Grandage directs Derek Jacobi as Shakespeare’s king whose world descends into chaos. 8pm. $22; children under 12 $15.

MUSIC: Thank You @ 51 3rd St., Troy. Baltimore-based Thrill Jockey recording artists Thank You serve up the post-punk/no-wave/art-rock sounds of their new album, “Golden Worry.” Joining in the musical mayhem are Australian tortured-toy trio Toydeath and Nippertown’s own one-man metal mandolin assault Disposable Rocket Band. 8pm. $5.

MUSIC: Rustic Overtones @ Jillian’s, Albany. Roaring out of Portland, Maine, the rockers return to Nippertown in support of their latest album, “The New Way Out. Proud to call Albany their “home away from home,” frontman Dave Gutter declares, “Upstate New York is probably our biggest market of loyal fans that know every word of our songs.” Brooklyn dance-rockers Black Taxi open the show.
