Media Watch: Rave Reviews for Sean Rowe’s “Magic”
– a new acoustic version of Sean Rowe’s “Chocolate Cake”
The long-awaited Anti- Records re-release of Troy singer-songwriter Sean Rowe’s mesmerizing 2009 album, “Magic,” isn’t slated until Tuesday, but the accolades are already pouring in from coast to coast:
On Tuesday in The New York Daily News, Jim Farber dished out a rave four-star review for the album.
KCRW-FM in Santa Monica, California, named “Wet” as their Top Tune of the Day on Monday.
At Crawdaddy! The Magazine of Rock, J. Poet piled on plenty of praise with an enthusiastic review that opens with, “Sean Rowe would captivate listeners no matter what he was singing. His deep, rumbling baritone delivers tales of lives held in suspension, people balanced between night and day, darkness and light, life and death.”
And American Songwriter magazine, selected Rowe as their Songwriter of the Week and featured an insightful interview with Rowe by Evan Schlansky.
Fantastic!
Oh, and by the way… it’s Sean’s birthday today, too. Cheers!
