Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival Announces Line-Up
The second annual Solid Sound Festival roars into MASS MoCA in North Adams Friday-Sunday, June 24-26.
Wilco, of course, is the main attraction, and the band will be playing headlining sets on both Friday and Sunday evenings. But the members of Wilco have also once again curated the festival, carefully selecting the other musicians who will be joining them at Solid Sound.
Here’s the 2011 Sold Sound Festival line-up of performers:
Wilco (Friday + Saturday headlining sets)
The Levon Helm Band
Thurston Moore
Pillow Wand (Nels Cline & Thurston Moore duo)
Glenn Kotche
The Autumn Defense
Pronto
Syl Johnson & The Sweet Divines
Dave Douglas & Brass Ecstasy
Handsome Family
Liam Finn
Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion
JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound
Here We Go Magic

Purling Hiss
Once again, the festival will feature much more than just music, too. The Comedy Cabaret – curated by John Hodgman – will feature comics Wyatt Cenac, Eugene Mirman and Morgan Murphy.
And for the kids, the Story Pirates will be back at Solid Sound again, too. The fun-for-all-ages sketch comedy/musical troupe will offer performances and skits based entirely on stories written by elementary school-aged kids.
Tickets for the three-day festival are $124.50 and available at the Solid Sound Festival website and the MASS MoCA website, as well as at the MASS MoCA box office.through solidsoundfestival.com, massmoca.org and the MASS MoCA box office. Price includes admission to festival and museum, service fees and designated festival parking.
Admission for children 6 & under is FREE at Solid Sound. Weekend festival passes for kids ages 7-10 are $50 and ONLY AVAILABLE at the Solid Sound Box Office, starting Friday, June 24. They will be available throughout the entire weekend.
