Robyn Hitchcock, What Was the First Album You Ever Bought?

“The first album I bought was probably ‘Highway 61 Revisited’ by Bob Dylan, and I would still put that at the top of the list of my all-time favorite records. I still love that album.
Other things like Country Joe & the Fish or the Incredible String Band just didn’t last. They didn’t stand the test of time. They sound like period pieces.”
Singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock will team up with producer Joe Boyd for an evening dubbed “Chinese White Bicycles” at MASS MoCA in North Adams at 8pm on Saturday. Boyd will read from his excellent memoir “White Bicycles: Making Music in the Sixties,” while Hitchcock will play songs that accompany the reading, including presumably, the Incredible String Band… Tix are $18 in advance; $22 at the door; priority tix $28.
