MUSIC: Forthlin Road @ the Parting Glass, Saratoga Springs. Fiery fiddler Nelson Rock leads Celtic rockers Forthlin Road in celebration of the Parting Glass’ 30th anniversary. Corned beef and cabbage, Irish step dancing, more. 1pm.

MUSIC: Fairview Avenue @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The crackling homegrown bluegrass combo plays its first show with new fiddler Joe Gumpper. 7pm. $14 in advance; $16 at the door.

MUSIC: Genitorturers @ Bogie’s, Albany. How long has it been since the provocative Gen and her band of metal fetishists banged out a show in Nippertown? Since the days of QE2? With Hanzel und Gretyl, Apathy Arising, the Harrowing, A kLoKwErK kAoS, Distopic and Purifier. Doors open at 7pm. $12 in advance; $15 at the door.

ARTS TALK: “Two Artists in Dialog” @ the Opalka Gallery at the Sage Colleges, Albany. Two good friends of the Half Moon – Len Tantillo and James Whitbeck – will discuss the contrasting styles of their work, but their common source of inspiration. 2pm.

MUSIC: Lawson @ the East Greenbush Community Library, East Greenbush. The Celtic music duo of Eric Everson and Hilary Schrauf will be joined by Irish stepdancer Michaela Tricozzi for a program of traditional Irish music. 2pm. FREE.

MUSIC: The High Kings @ The Egg, Albany. They’ve been named the Best Folk Group for three years running at the Irish Music Awards. Maybe you’ve seen their PBS special on WMHT-TV. Maybe you picked up a copy of their brand new album, “Memory Lane.” Now, here’s your chance to catch them live in concert. 7:30pm. $30.
