Update: We announced it two weeks ago, but the Live Nation folks finally made it official this week – Motley Crue, Poison and, yes, the New York Dolls will roll into the Saratoga Performing Arts Center at 7pm on Saturday, July 23. (PS: The 7pm start time means that the Dolls will be playing in the daylight, and you can bet that’s not going to be a pretty sight.) Priced at $49.50, $69.50 and $95.00 fro amphitheater seats and $26 for lawn admission, tix go on sale to the general public at 10am on Saturday. (Through 12midnight on Sunday, March 20, lawn tix will be discounted to $20.)

The Palace Theatre in Albany hosts an evening with Captain Sig and the Hillstrand Brothers from the Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch,” at 8pm on Friday, May 6th at 8pm. The crew will swap stories, screen never before seen video and conduct a Q&A session. Tix go on sale to the general public on Friday, priced at $31.75, $41.75 and $77.

Comedian Dave Attell – named one of the “25 Funniest People in America” by Entertainment Weekly – steps into the spotlight at The Egg in Albany at 8pm on Saturday, May 21. Tix are priced at $29.50 in advance; $34.50 at the door. Tix are slated to go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday, March 25.

Northern Lights in Clifton Park has added a batch of new shows to its calendar, including Seether at 8pm on Thursday May 19 ($28 in advance; $33 at the door); Papa Roach with Escape the Fate and Pop Evil at 7pm on Tuesday, May 24 ($27.50 in advance; $30 at the door); the Shpongletron Experience with Random Rab at 9pm on Thursday, May 26 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door); and In Flames with Trivium, Kingdom of Sorrow and Straight Line Stitch at 7pm on Tuesday, July 26.

The Spampinato Brothers – featuring NRBQ’s Joey and Johnny Spampinato – return to the Ale House in Troy at 9pm on Saturday. Tix are $15.

Bearsville Theater in Woodstock welcomes Caravan Of Thieves with the Ragbirds at 9pm on Saturday, April 9 ($12), in addition to the Big Takeover at 8pm on Saturday, April 16 ($10).

Cancelled: The Dipset show originally scheduled for Friday, March 25 at Northern Lights in Clifton Park has been cancelled. All tickets can be returned for refunds at the place of purchase.

Update: We announced it last week, but the Palace Theatre finally confirmed the concert by guitar great Tommy Emmanuel for 8pm on Saturday, May 7. Priced at $35, tix go on sale to the general public on Saturday.

    I don’t know about Atell being one of the 25 funniest bipeds in America, but he did have one of the best TV shows Comedy Central ever had. Mind you, that was back when that channel was more than just Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert…
