Canadian folk-roots trio the Wailin’ Jennys bring their gorgeous, vibrant three-part harmonies to the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall for their Nippertown concert debut this Saturday at 8pm. The award-winning, critically acclaimed group has wowed audiences with their music which ranges from the folk sound of their debut album, “40 Days,” to the alt-country and pop-rock songs of their followup, “Firecracker,” to the Americana, pop and traditional folk of their current release, “Bright Morning Stars.”

Each of the three vivacious virtuosos are accomplished musicians in their own right, but when they came together as the Wailin’ Jennys, their sound was greater than just the sum of their parts. Soprano Ruth Moody (vocals, guitar, accordion, banjo, bodhrán) is a classically trained vocalist and pianist who recently released her first full-length solo album, “The Garden.” Mezzo Nicky Mehta (vocals, guitar, harmonica, drums, ukulele), a trained dancer raised on classical music, ’70s AM radio and heavily influenced by alternative pop, was nominated for a Canadian Indie Music Award for her solo album, “Weather Vane.” And alto Heather Masse (vocals, upright bass) is a Jazz Voice graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, who has performed in Mark O’Connor’s Hot Swing, Darol Anger’s Republic of Strings and is a regular guest on “A Prairie Home Companion.”
