MUSIC: Spottiswoode & His Enemies @ Club Helsinki Hudson, Hudson. They were the first band to play at the Hudson Helsinki nearly a year ago, and now they’re headed back to celebrate the release of their new album, “Wild Goosechase Expedition,” on Old Soul Records. Highly recommended. 9pm. $15.
MUSIC: Steve Tyrell @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Swinging and crooning, the jazz and pop singer and his big band tackle the Great American Songbook of standards. 8pm. $28, $32 and $37.
MUSIC: Hendrik Meurkins & Bob DeVos @ Flights of Fantasy, Colonie. Jazz guitarist DeVos joins jazz harmonicat extraordinaire Meurkins for an intimate duo performance. With special guest Yuko Kishimoto. 8pm. $10.

The New York City-based trio – featuring Gabriel Marin on fretless double-neck guitar, John Ferrara on bass, and Justin Ahiyon on drums – describes their sound as “Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Funk.” With the Israeli visual arts rock band Eatliz opening the show. 9pm. $10 in advance; $12 at the door.
