SHOPPING: Rock N Roll Expo @ the Albany Marriott, Albany. Buy, sell and trade all sorts of pop culture collectibles, including vinyl, CDs, comics, DVDs and video games. In addition to all of the dealers and collectors with the tables full of wares, there expo will also feature live performances by ’70s rockers Starz, John Lennon/Beatles tribute artists Imagining Lennon and comic acoustic singer-songwriter Drew Jacobs. And although, he won’t be performing rocker Tommy James (of Tommy James & the Shondells) will be on hand signing his book, “Me, the Mob and the Music.” 10am-6pm. $6.

MUSIC: Septeto Nacional Ignacio Pineiro de Cuba @ Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Led by Eugenio “Raspa” Rodríguez and Frank “El Matador” Oropesa, the veteran seven-piece band promises an evening of infectious, uptempo fun music from the world’s foremost champions and protectors of Cuban son. 7pm. $25, $29, $35.

MUSIC: Tribute to Sam Farkas: Jazz Appreciation Concert @ Proctors’ Robb Alley, Schenectady. The Schenectady Musical Union will honor the late Sam Farkas with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and featured bands slated to perform include the Terry Gordon Quintet (with string quartet), Boptitude, the Mike Wicks Sextet and Sketches of Influence. 3-7pm.

SHOPPING: Albany Comic Con @ the Holiday Inn, Albany. It’s a two-fer-one shopping day for collector geeks. Just down the road from the Rock N Roll Expo, all sorts of dealers in comics, graphic novels, action figures and other stuff will be on sale from dealers all around the northeast. Also on hand will be dozens of comic writers and illustrators, including Paul Abrams, Dick Ayers, Bill Anderson, Greg Blazer, Ken Branch, Mike Borkowski, Keith Dallas, Todd Dezago, Randy Elliott, Dan Green, Paul Harding, John Hebert, Fred Hembeck, Jamal Igle, Tyler James, Ron Marz, Mark Mckenna, Lee Moder, Dave Rodriguez, Declan Shalvey, Val Semeiks, Matthew Dow Smith, Christian St. Pierre, Joe St. Pierre, Joe Staton, Bobby Timony, Peter Timony and Mike Zagari. 10am-4pm. $5.

MUSIC: Vance Gilbert @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The ever-popular veteran singer-songwriter from Philly teams up for a double-bill with Natalia Zukerman, who is celebrating the release of her new album, “Gas Station Roses.” 7pm. $18 in advance; $20 at the door.

MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: “Footprints of the Future” @ JP Bruno’s, Glens Falls. Shawn Kelly hosts a child abuse awareness event with raffles, a silent auction, speakers, comedian Tony Jackson and music by Chuck Kelsey, Frank Palangi with TR Remsen, Marcus Ruggiero, Wayne Rogers and Seneca Scarincio & Phil Hollis (of Street Talk). 12noon-6pm. $10 suggested donation.

MUSIC: Asking Alexandria @ Northern Lights, Clifton Park. With Emmure, Chiodos, Miss May I, Evergreen Terrace and Lower Than Atlantis. 5:30pm. UPDATE: SOLD OUT.

FILM: “Tokyo Story” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. A special benefit screening of Yasujiro Ozu’s classic 1953 masterpiece with all proceeds going to the Japan Society’s Japan Earthquake Relief Fund. 5:30pm. $10 suggested donation.

MUSIC: Frank Jaklitsch @ the Irish Mist, Troy. Easter comes early to the Mist. In addition to Jaklitsch’s family friendly blend of pop, folk, Celtic and original tunes, there will also be an Easter egg hunt for the kids. 5pm.
