Jes Hudak Competes on “Platinum Hit”

Cable channel Bravo is tapping into more Nippertown talent with its new show, “Platinum Hit,” which makes its television debut at 10pm on Monday, May 30.

(You may recall that Bravo featured Troy video and performance artist Nao Bustamante last year on “Work of Art: The Next Great Artist” – a “reality” TV competition between 14 up-and-coming visual artists.)

Bravo’s new “Platinum Hit” show is a music competition that follows a dozen up-and-coming singer-songwriters as they battle through a series of innovative songwriting challenges that test their creativity and versatility, as they craft everything from dance tracks to love ballads. The show is hosted by Jewel, who also doubles as a judge. Songwriter and former “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi will also serve as the head judge.

One of the 12 competitors is Saratoga Springs native Jes Hudak, who got her show business start singing her own songs at Caffe Lena’s open mic nights at the tender age of 13. She recorded her debut album, “In There Somewhere,” just a year later.

Hudak now calls Los Angeles home, and she’s recently released her latest recording, the EP “National Holiday.”

Good luck, Jes. We’re rooting for ya…
