“It was ‘In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida’ by Iron Butterfly. Yeah, that was it. It was a classic.

This was like, what? ’68? ’69? ’70? I was pretty young, but it looked cool, and I knew it was a heavy record.”

Sonic Youth’s singer-guitarist-songwriter Thurston Moore joins the Warblers, Henry Rollins and headliners Dinosaur Jr. (who will be performing their classic album “Bug” in its entirety) at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton at 6:30pm on Tuesday for a benefit for Whole Children. Tix are $25. Moore will also be performing at the Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams this weekend. He’s scheduled to perform at 6pm on Saturday. He’ll also join Wilco guitarist Nels Cline in Pillow Wand for a duo performance at 3:30pm on Sunday.
