MUSIC: The Blisterz @ Freedom Park, Scotia. The power-popsters kick off the Freedom Park summer concert series by celebrating the release of their new CD, “Rebels Without Applause.” 7pm. FREE.
THEATER/MUSIC: “The Standard Model” @ Grand Street Community Arts, Albany. A one-night-only performance by the RPM Puppet Conspiracy is a “moving exploration of friendship, intergalactic warfare and the incredible longevity of packaged baked goods.” Also on the bill are Redefined Arguments, the debut of Brief Bouts of SPIMES and _11:34. DANCE: Keigwin + Company @ Jacob’s Pillow’s Doris Duke Theatre, Beckett. Under the direction of choreographer Larry Keigwin, the program features “Megalopolis,” danced to “World Town” and “XR2” by MIA and “Sextet-Six Marimbas” by Steve Reich; the fashion-inspired dance “Runaway”; and “Love Songs,” comprised of three sets of romantic, witty duets danced to the songs of Nina Simone, Roy Orbison, and Aretha Franklin. 8:15pm. $34.50-$37.50. DANCE: “Romeo and Juliet” @ Jacob’s Pillow’s Ted Shawn Theatre, Beckett. It’s opening night. Switzerland’s Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève returns to open the season with the U.S. premiere of French choreographer Joëlle Bouvier’s “Romeo and Juliet.” 8pm. $59.50-$64.50. Through Sunday.
