Changes in the Line-up for Friday’s Downtown Albany Jazz Fest Competition

Last week, the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District has announced the line-up for inaugural Downtown Albany Jazz Fest Competition, which will take place for 6-10pm on Friday (September 9) at 10 venues throughout downtown Albany.

Now, they’re announcing a change in the line-up. The Chronicles have been scratched at the Pearl Street Pub. Pinch-hitting for them will be Le Rubb.

Admission is FREE to all venues involved in the competition, and the public is encouraged to come out to participate in the competition by voting for their favorite act. Participating voters must visit at least three venues in order for their ballot to be valid. Voting ballots and submission boxes will be available at each venue. A free trolley will run between venues from 6:30-10pm.

The winner of the competition as selected by audience votes will take the stage at 12noon on Saturday (September 10) as the opening act for Albany’s Riverfront Jazz Festival in Riverfront Park.

Here’s the revised line-up for the Downtown Albany Jazz Fest Competition:

Out of the Box @ McGeary’s

Michelle Caminos Quintet @ R Bar

Kelly Birtch @ Taste

The Arch Stanton Quartet @ 74 State

The Tim Olsen / Eric Walentowicz Duo @ Blue 82
