Real Good for Free: Troy Saving Bank Music Hall’s Music @ Noon Series

The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall’s free lunchtime Music @ Noon concert series kicks off a month earlier than usual at 12noon on Tuesday (September 13) with a performance by Quintette 7, a band made up of students attending the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Don’t expect a program of military music, however.
The jazz-centric chamber group brings its unique, high energy show to the Music Hall, presenting an exciting program of works by Leroy Anderson, go-to soundtrack composer (and former Oingo Boingo frontman) Danny Elfman and fab, cult-favorite composer Raymond Scott. The band’s latest album, “Quintette 7 Plays the Music of Raymond Scott” features such classic Scott compositions as “Reckless Night on Board an Ocean Liner,” “Peter Tambourine,” “Dinner Muisc for a Pack of Hungry Cannibals” and “Dedicatory Piece to the Crew & Passengers of the First Experimental Rocket Express to the Moon.”
The Music Hall opens at 11am for the noon performance and patrons are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch to enjoy before the show.
The Music @ Noon concert series will continue on the second Tuesday of each month throughout the Music Hall’s 2011-2012 season Here’s the complete schedule of performances:
