Festival Fever: The Roots Music Festival #2 @ The Linda, 9/17/11
Although the fest began back in 2007 as a two-day, 14-band affair downtown at Red Square, last year organizer Ryan Dunham and his his band Red Haired Strangers consolidated it into a single evening and moved the bash uptown to The Linda. It was a perfect fit. (Read our review here.)
So for the second year, the festival is making its home at The Linda, hence the official name of the fest – The Roots Music Festival #2. And once again, the bash is a benefit with all proceeds from the festivities going to the J.C. Club to help feed inner city kids in Albany.
The music gets underway at 7pm on Saturday, and admission is $15. Good music, good cause, good times…
Here’s the list of performers who are donating their time and talents:
Jim Gaudet & the Railroad Boys
The Heavenly Echoes Gospel Singers
Red Haired Strangers
M.R. Poulopoulos
Dan Johnson & His Expert Sidemen
Holly & Evan
