FILM: “Untitled” @ Skidmore College’s Tang Museum, Saratoga Springs. Marking World AIDS Day, the 60-minute film by Jim Hodges, Encke King and Carlos Marques da Cruz – a non-linear montage of archival and pop footage recalling the passionate activism sparked by the early years of the AIDS crisis – will be screened hourly from 12noon-6pm. MUSIC: “Scenes from MONO” @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. iEAR presents selections from composer Neil Rolnick’s new work. 7:30pm. FREE. Related story.

MUSIC: Amy LaVere @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. Straight outta Memphis, the bad-ass vocalist-upright-bassist-actress and her friends rev up an evening sultry, steamy, intoxicating tunes in support of her latest album, “Stranger Me.” With Local 518 faves Palatypus. 8:30pm. $8. MUSIC: Mississippi Hot Dogs @ Putnam Den, Saratoga Springs. The first in a series of shows curated by Tony Markellis – Trey Anastasio Band bassist and longtime Saratoga Springs music scene mover ‘n’ shaker – spotlighting the enormous talent of the Local 518. Tonight it’s MHD, featuring Markellis, slide guitarist Kevin Maul and Railbird’s Chris Kyle (guitar) and Chris Carey (drums). 10pm. $7. Related story.

ARTS WALK: The Victorian Streetwalk @ various locations, Saratoga Springs. The 25th annual holiday celebration. 5-10pm. FREE.

Arts Walk: Downstreet Art on Ice @ Downtown North Adams. Six exhibition openings, two performances, art deals, a children’s scavenger hunt, the Artsicle (art on a stick) wandering cart, a holiday shop window decorations contest as well as specials at downtown businesses. 5pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Frank Jaklitsch & Friends @ the Irish Mist, Troy. It’s a CD release party for Jaklitsch’s new CD, “One Small Child,” as well as the third annual Christmas concert to benefit the Vineyard Church in Cohoes. FILM: “An Evening in Wonderland” @ Skidmore College’s Tang Museum, Saratoga Springs. A double-feature of films based on the Lewis Carroll classic – Jan Švankmajer’s haunting stop-motion “Alice” and the time-honored Disney animated “Alice in Wonderland.” Both films will be screened at 7 & 9pm.
