MUSIC: Mac Miller @ Northern Lights, Clifton Park. The Pittsburgh rapper’s new album, “Blue Slide Park,” went straight to No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart when it was released last month. With Pac Div and Casey Veggies. 8pm. UPDATE: This concert is sold out.

FILM: “Brunswick” @ the Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. Nate Simms’ documentary about landscape change told through the personal story of a Rennselaer County farmer’s lifelong connection to his now-threatened land. With a soundtrack by Matthew Carefully. A Q&A session with the director follows the screening. 7pm. $6.

COMEDY: Laughs On Lark @ Elda’s On Lark, Albany. Jaye Mcbride hosts the laugh-filled showcase featuring comedians Matt Kelly, Matt Mitchell and Kevin Marshall, as well as illusionist David Boyd and members of the Mop & Bucket Company improv troupe. As comic/uber-blogger Kevin Marshall declares, “Bring your laughing shoes and an extra set of pants!” 9pm. $5.

TALK: Robert Lue @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. The Harvard director of life sciences education and founder of BioVisions discusses the vital and transformative role that visualizations play in science and education research with his talk “Using Art to Express and Advance the Scientific Process.” 6pm. Alexandra Pelosi’s documentary examines the lives of the children who reside in discounted motels within walking distance of Disneyland, living in limbo as their families struggle to survive in one of the wealthiest regions of America. 7:30pm.     Judith Prest at Caffe Lena!!! Wow, things have changed. I thought that was a folk joint. How are they gonna fit all those amps up there, much less Rob Halford’s motorcycle.
