New Concerts at MASS MoCA

The massive MASS MoCA in North Adams is much more than just the sprawling group of galleries showcasing some of the edgiest, most adventurous contemporary art in the world. The museum is also committed to presenting cutting edge music, theater, dance and film.

MASS MoCA’s upcoming schedule of performances for 2012 have been announced, and here’s the line-up of musical shows slated for the museum next year:

JEFF & JANE HUDSON

Electronic music duo formerly of the Rentals.

ZAMMUTO
Friday, February 3, 8pm

Nick Zammuto of the Books unveils his new four-piece band, playing songs from Zammuto, as well as classic and never-before-performed tracks from the Books and a screening of the short film “Achantè.”

Synth Funk Dance Party with GORDON VOIDWELL
Saturday, February 11, 8pm

A subversive, futuristic mix of pop, new wave and funk from rap geek and producer Will Johnson.

CATHERINE RUSSELL
Saturday, February 18, 8pm

She’s sung with everyone from David Bowie and Paul Simon to Levon Helm and Rosanne Cash, but this time around she’s celebrates the release of her own fourth solo album, “Strictly Romancin’.”

Direct from Belfast, the multi-generational Celtic band kicks off the St. Patrick’s Day celebration a day early.

EMILY KING

The singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performs her gentle mix of soul, folk and rock music.
