Down in Hudson, the Spotty Dog Books & Ale hosts a smokin’ double-bill on Sunday (January 8) featuring singer-songwriter-author John Wesley Harding and Eleanor Friedberger (of the Fiery Furnaces). Showtime is 6pm on Sunday, and admission is $7.

The blues are coming to the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, led by two new concert announcements. The Official Blues Brothers Revue – led by Wayne Catania and Kieron Lafferty as Jake & Elwood – roars into Woodstock at 9pm on Friday, March 23. Tix are $30 (general admission) and $40 (reserved balcony seating). Then at 9pm on Saturday, March 31, veteran Texas bluesman Johnny Winter & his band roar into the Bearsville Theater. Tix are $25, $35 & $50. Also new on the Bearsville calendar, Woodstock’s own Professor Louie & the Crowmatix land in the spotlight at 9pm on Friday, January 20. Tix are $15.

Northern Lights in Clifton Park plays host to I Set My Friends on Fire on Wednesday, April 18. The concert kicks off at 6:30pm with Greeley Estates, A Bullet for Pretty Boy and A Lot Like Birds. Priced at $12 in advance, tix go on sale at 10am on Friday (January 6).

Yes, he was in town just last week leading the Catbirds at Valentine’s Music Hall. Now Chandler Travis is about to make his Ale House debut in Troy with the Chandler Travis Three-O. Showtime is 9pm on Saturday, January 21.

CANCELLED: The performance of “The Bad Boys of Broadway” featuring Schuler Hensley and Jonathan Tunick – which was originally slated to take place at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Saturday, January 21 – has been cancelled and will not be re-scheduled. Refunds are available at the place of purchase.

PRICE CHANGE: Due to an error on the part of the promoter, the advance tix price for the Popa Chubby shows at the Van Dyck in Schenectady on Friday, January 27 is $17, not $15 as we reported last week. Tix at the remain at the previously reported priced of $20.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Acclaimed New Orleans horn man Trombone Shorty and his band Orleans Avenue are the latest musicians to be added to the line-up for the Freihofer Saratoga Jazz Festival at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs.
