THEATER: “The Sisters Rosensweig” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. It’s opening night for the heart-warming comic portrait of a complex family by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Wendy Wasserstein. 7:30pm. $20, $30, $40 & $50; students $16. Through Sunday, February 19.

MUSIC: Americana Tuesday @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. Host band Dan Johnson & His Expert Sidemen welcome special guests Rusty Belle and MR Poulopoulos. 8pm. $5. Related story.

MUSIC: Onward to Olympus @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. With their new album, “The War Within Us,” the North Carolina band has conjured up an intriguing blend of progressive rock, hardcore and death metal. With Fit for a King, In Dying Arms and For All I Am. 6pm.

MUSIC: Schenectady City School District Music Faculty @ Schenectady High School, Schenectady. The second annual faculty recital will feature a wide variety of musical styles from Mozart’s “Ave Verum Corpus” to a jazz combo performance of Victor Feldman’s “The Chant” to a tribute to Victor Borge. All donations will benefit Schenectady Friends of Music. 7pm. Donations gratefully accepted.
