Another Band Announced for J.B. Scott’s Reunion…

The Units/Fear of Strangers are the latest band to join the roster of performers for the J.B. Scott’s Reunion show on May 5 at Michael’s Banquet House in Latham. Original band members Val Haynes, Todd Nelson, Steve Cohen and Al Kash will be joined by their “utility player” Jeff Doctorow, who played with them at their very first show in 1978 at the Junior College of Albany.

From May, 1978 until they disbanded in October, 1983, the Units (who changed their name to Fear of Strangers to avoid confusion with the collection of other bands called the Units) played nearly 1,000 live shows in the Capital District and throughout the Northeast.

In 2001, they reunited to perform for the Local 518 music television show “Soundcheck.” And in 2005, they teamed up with their old friends in Blotto to play two live shows – at Central Park in Schenectady and Revolution Hall in Troy. The J.B. Scott’s Reunion performance will be the first show since then.

Previously announced bands for the JB Scott’s Reunion include the Last Conspirators, the Lazers, the Penny Knight Band and the Ernie Williams Band (featuring Joe Mele).

Tix for the J.B. Scott’s Reunion are priced at $33, which includes food and entertainment.
