THEATER ON FILM: “Travelling Light” @ Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. The National Theatre of London’s production of Nicholas Wright’s play about the Eastern European immigrants who became major players in Hollywood’s golden age. Directed by Nicholas Hytner and starring Antony Sher. 7pm. $15; children 12 & under $12.

MUSIC: Gemini & Koan Sound @ Northern Lights, Clifton Park. It’s dubsteppin’ time with the UKF U.S. tour. With DJ Prophet, DJ vs VJ and Static Groove. 8pm. $17.

MUSIC: Jim Gaudet & the Railroad Boys @ McGeary’s Pub, Albany. Just back from a pair of standing room only performances at the Wintergrass Music Festival in Seattle, Washington, Gaudet and the band are ready to rip it up with their homecoming gig. 7:15pm. FREE.

ARTIST TALK: Elana Herzog @ UAlbany’s University Art Museum, Albany. The installation artist and sculptor gives a talk in conjunction with the exhibit “Material Occupation,” which features her work. 7pm. FREE.

TALK/PERFORMANCE: Jennifer Miller @ MCLA Amsler Campus Center’s Sullivan Lounge, North Adams. The performance artist, bearded woman and director of Circus Amok offers a talk and slideshow about the sources of inspiration for her style of political theater, interspersed with circus tricks, modern dance and fire eating. 7pm. MUSIC: Da Flash Band @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Woodstock-based funk trio led by seven-string guitarist Flash. 8pm. FREE.
