The First Rockin’ On the River Concert of 2012…
There hasn’t been any official word yet regarding this summer’s series of free Rockin’ On the River concerts in Troy, but according to the band’s website, the Michael Jackson tribute band Who’s Bad is scheduled to play a return engagement at the Hedley District Riverfront at 5pm on Wednesday, August 1.
BUT WAIT… it looks like a Michael Jackson double-header…
Yes, it’s more Michael, more often: The Times Union Center announced that Cirque du Soleil is bringing their own tribute to the self-proclaimed “King of Pop” when their “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour” lands in downtown Albany at 8pm on Tuesday, May 22.
Unlike the Rockin’ On the River show, however, Cirque du Soleil’s MJ homage certainly isn’t free. The cheap tix are $53, and they go up from there: $83, $128 & $178. Or you can pick up a VIP ticket for $253.
Tix for the Times Union Center show will go on sale to the general public at 10am on Monday (March 12).
For it to be truly an “authentic” Michael Jackson tribute, it would have to be an “all ages” show, no? See what I did there …?
