New Concert Announcement from the Times Union Center

Country-pop hitmakers Sugarland will be sweetening up the 2012 summer concert season with a tour stop at the Times Union Center in Albany at 7:30pm on Thursday, June 14.

As Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles explains, “This year’s tour is based around the concept of putting the show into the hands of the fans. They will make the requests that will help form the set list and guide the show. Through texts, handwritten signs, the Internet (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), phone calls made during the show and selections directly from the stage, the fans will become the conductors as well as the audience. If it’s on one of our records or if we’ve played it on a stage, it is fair game.”

Hey, maybe they’ll do a Dexy’s Midnight Runners tune…

Opening the show will be Lauren Alaina and Canaan Smith.

Ticket prices are currently TBA, but UPDATE: Ticket prices are $29.50, $46, $56 & $59.50; tix are slated to go on sale at 10am on Friday, March 16.
