Hair of the Dog’s Big CD Release Party

Hair of the Dog: Liam Left the Lights on Again

It’s gonna be a wild, double-barrelled bash on Saturday night when Nippertown’s premier Celtic rock band Hair Of The Dog takes the stage at Revolution Hall in Troy.

Not only is it St. Patrick’s Day – which is certainly reason enough to celebrate – but Saturday’s show will also double as the CD release party for Hair of the Dog’s brand new CD, “Liam Left the Lights on Again,” on the October Eve Music label.

The new album features a mix of the band’s original tunes, as well as some covers, and Aaron Hurwitz (also known as Professor Louie of the Crowmatix) dropped by the studio to make a special guest appearance on accordion.

Cover art for the new CD cover features a photograph taken by HOTD bandleader Rick Bedrosian which was shot during the band’s 2010 tour of Ireland. (The band is making another tour of the Emerald Isle from March 30-April 5, and you can find out more about joining them on the trans-Atlantic jaunt.)

One of the most popular bands on the Nippertown music scene, Hair of the Dog was voted Best Rock Band in last week’s Metroland Readers’ Poll. And their fans are coming out in droves for Saturday’s double-edged celebration. Unfortunately, if you don’t already have your tix for the Revolution Hall show, it looks like you’re out of luck, as the show is now completely sold out.

Fortunately, however, you’ll get another chance to party with the band (and pick up a copy of their new CD) when they return to the Parting Glass in Saratoga Springs at 8pm on Friday, March 23. But you might want to make your reservations now, before that show sells out, too.
