Five Finalists Named in the Garage to Glory Battle of the Bands

And then there were five…
From the field of 12 semi-finalists in the Garage to Glory III battle of the bands, judges selected four bands to compete in the live, final battle which is slated to take place at the College of St. Rose in Albany on Friday, April 13.
Announced this morning, the judges’ selections are:
The Assortment of Crayons
Between the Arctic
Mach 5
My Favorite Fence
In addition, a fifth wildcard finalist was chosen to compete as selected by online voting:
The five finalists will each perform a 15-minute set of original music live at the Performance Studio of the College of St. Rose’s Communications and Interactive Media Center in Albany at 8pm on Friday, April 13. Admission is free; but tix are required (available here).
The judges for the G2G3 are Sten Isachen (guitarist-mandolinist with Jim Gaudet & the Railroad Boys, Caroline MotherJudge and Musicians of Ma’alwyck; owner-engineer of Bender Studios in Delmar); Katie Hammon (of Bear Grass and Slender Shoulders; director of operations at the Palace Theatre; co-founder of the Albany Music Coalition) and Michael Corts (CEO and founder of the Avid Agencies).
The grand prize winner will receive a master EP recording, an in-studio music video and a profile in The Times Union.
