This is a rare, not-to-be-missed pairing of two of Nippertown’s most talented, yet most elusive musical artists.
On Saturday evening, super singer-songwriters Rosanne Raneri and Bryan Thomas – both veteran musicians with award-winning recordings to their credit – will step into the spotlight at the intimate Steamer No. 10 Theatre in Albany.
With such stunning albums as 2000’s “Parhelion” and 2004’s “Shift,” Raneri ascended to the top of the Nippertown singer-songwriter heap, but she’s been missing in action on the local live music scene for some time, as she concentrated on theater. Fortunately for all of us, she’s been making a return to music as of late, and the Steamer No. 10 is the perfect place to catch her power and passion.
Thomas’s 21st century recorded output includes 2002’s “Ones and Zeros,” 2004’s “Babylon” and 2008’s brilliant “One Three Six Nine Lights,” all infused with bold splashes of rock, funk, pop and hip-hop. Like Raneri, he is well-respected by his peers, loved by his fans and all too infrequently seen on stage.
Word is that the two singers might also join forces for few selections, as well, making for a truly historic evening on Saturday.

I have never seen either of these musicians perform. I have the evening free. Would love to see them BOTH at the Steamer 10! I lost at megamillions, Publishers clearing,,, Be nice to know there are some things that are free and for the asking!
I’ve been a fan of Bryan’s for years. He’s work is so enjoyable. He and his family are so very talented. I have not had the pleasure of seeing Rosanne in person but can’t wait until next weekend to do so. I live right next to the Steamer 10 and have been sharing it’s treasures with friends. Haven’t seen R.R. in years but I think she is one of the jewels in the crown for 518 music. Want to bring my daughter Mackenzie to see her as well just for the inspiration. I like everything I have heard on radio from Mr. Thomas too. Being a struggling working stiff, a free ticket would help the wallet and offset the cost of gas to get back to the old neighborhood.
