Flashback Foto: Name the Band! Win a Prize!

Hooray! Yes, we had another winner in last week’s contest…
And it’s already Thursday once again, which means that it’s time for another new installment of FLASHBACK FOTO, and you’ve got another chance to play. As usual, we went digging, digging, digging through the vast underground Nippertown archive bunker to unearth yet another fabulous band promo photo from years gone by.
Thanks to the fine folks at the Spectrum 8 Theatres in Albany, we’re giving away a FREE PAIR OF MOVIE PASSES to the seventh commenter who correctly identifies this band. Please keep in mind that all of the weekly Flashback Fotos are of local Nippertown bands of yesteryear, which should help steer you away from guesses like the Avett Brothers, the Allman Brother or Dr. Joyce Brothers.
To make it fair, comments on this post won’t show up until we announce the winner on Monday (or Tuesday) afternoon. One comment per person, please, and be sure to leave your correct, working email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win.
Yes, yes, yes, we have another winner. And, yes, we heard from a number of you that this one was just too easy. Well, once in a while we like to lob a big fat pitch right down the middle of the plate to see how many of you can hit it out of the park. The answer is: THE STAR SPANGLED WASHBOARD BAND. Nice job, everyone…
The Star Spangled Washboard Band…….the bowtie is a dead giveaway……

Too easy, it’s the first image that comes up when you google image SSWB. Was Dworkin cropped out of the photo? And I thought Bud got the name and all you got was the bus, but that was a long time ago and I may be misremembering the lyrics.
Star Spangled Washboard Band
The Hudson Brothers….or the Marx Brothers…I’m not sure.
Just kidding we know it’s the washboard band
That would be the SS3, a lesser known spinoff of the Star Spangled Warshband that toured extensively with the Mc5 and later played the ’68 Democratic Convention. They are still remember for their one “hit” Kick Out The Washboard Mother F****kers!
