With 21 years leading Filter under his belt, lead vocalist Richard Patrick hasn’t lost one iota of his in-your-face, punk-meets-rock persona.

Out touring in support of their latest release “The Trouble With Angles,” Patrick and company landed hard on stage at Jillian’s on a chilly Tuesday night. Performing tunes from the new album and nuggets from past releases – including 1995’s “Short Bus” and 1999’s “Title Of Record” – the original band members may have aged a bit, but the outfit’s sound is still grippingly fresh and head-bangingly vibrant.

The more things change, the more they stay the same, as the saying goes.
