For a show that was quietly tucked away on the corner of South Pearl and State streets in downtown Albany, Reptar delivered… and then some.

DJ Karate got the crowd ready, but the 50-or-so patrons came to see Reptar. This band from Athens, Georgia, was making their Nippertown debut appearance, playing mostly songs from their new EP “Oblangle Fizz Y’all.” The band is on their way to a new LP release, “Body Faucet,” in May. The six-piece band brought lots of progressive influences mixed in with dance-worthy beats. On occasion, a few members of the band mingled with the dancing crowd while playing.

Just when you thought Reptar was done with their show, they broke into a whole new set, which they called “Reptar Karaoke,” where the band mostly played as a four-piece. Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and Creed covers were sung… but not well remembered. And with that set, it further became a musical house party at the Dublin Underground.
