Win FREE TIX to Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby @ Valentine’s on Saturday
They may look like an odd couple, but they make some really wonderful music together.
Wreckless Eric was the loosest of the loose cannons back in the early glory days of Stiff Records, blurring the line between pub rock and punk.
Amy Rigby was a member of NYC trio the Shams, and she later launched a string of fabulous solo records with her sublime 1996 album, “Diary of a Mod Housewife.”
Together, the husband-and-wife team of Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby have made two fine albums, including “Two-Way Family Favourites,” a knock-out all-covers disc that finds them digging into the songbags of such folks as Tom Petty, Pete Townshend, the Byrds, the Flamin Groovies and, yes, even ABBA.
They played a killer duo show at Valentine’s Music Hall back in November, 2010 (read review here), and they’ll be back sharing the Valentine’s stage again at 8pm on Saturday (April 28). The Black Fox River Project opens the show.
BUT WAIT… We’re giving away a pair of FREE TIX to see the show. To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The winner will be selected at random and notified on Friday. Good luck! Congratulations to the winner, who has been notified by email.
I actually have a Saturday night off and was wondering what to do!
A saw them the last time and would love to see ’em again.
They’re still talking about Wreckless & Amy’s last swell appearance at Valentine’s, and now they are our neighbors! Please pick me!
