How about Maaze, who will be firing it up over at Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany, just a stone’s throw from Washington Park?

With vocalists Alex Mazur and the lovely Summer Corrie trading off the vocal chores, jam-band Maaze is armed with plenty of passion and charisma. Add the fretboard fireworks of guitarist Chuck Valentine and the deep-dish rhythm section of drummer Hektor Bee and the rock-steady bottom-end of bassist Lucas Ruedy, and you know you’ve got a solid groove foundation.

But when Maaze hits Valentine’s stage at 9pm on Saturday, they’ll be upping the ante considerable with the addition of the soaring saxophone of special guest Kenny Brooks, best known for his work with Bob Weir in Ratdog.
