Win FREE TIX to the Dirt Daubers @ Valentine’s on Monday Night!
Yowza! Yowza! Yowza!
Who says there’s nothing to do in Albany on a Monday night?!?
All the way from Paducah, Kentucky, the Dirt Daubers ramble into Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany on Monday night (May 14) with their raucous mix of old-timey Appalachian, revved-up ragtime, hot jazz standards and off-beat original music. From cowboy songs to bluegrass, Harlem jazz to honky tonk, the Daubers throw it all into the blender and spit it out with plenty of vim, vigor and vampin’.
Who are these folks? Colonel JD Wilkes (songwriter and frontman for the Legendary Shack Shakers), his wife Jessica and fellow Shack Shaker Mark Robertson, that’s who. Put ’em all together, and you’ve got the Dirt Daubers.
Presented by UAlbany’s WCDB-FM, the Dirt Daubers take over the stage at Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany for one riotous night on Monday (May 14). Nippertown’s own like-minded combo the Slaughterhouse Chorus will do the honors as the opening act at 8pm. Advance tix are $10.
BUT WAIT… Have we got a deal for you! We’re giving away A PAIR OF FREE TIX to the show to one lucky Nippertown reader! To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The winner will be selected at random and notified on Monday. Enter today! And good luck! Congratulations to the winner, who has been notified by email.
Sounds like a fun night! The Shack Shakers are great so this probably will be too.

Recently outsourced from my job as a Website Designer/Developer I have little hopes of
being able to attend due to the financial constraints of NYS un-enjoyment
*sighs*
.. I Dig this song though, I remember when she posted it to her page..
would love to hear more like it..
Send tickets my way!
Let me get this straight. You’re saying I get to see the always awesome, high energy country/punk/rockabilly stylings of the Slaughterhouse Chorus paired with a band that combines rockabilly, Appalachian, and old New Orleans style jazz? Count me in! Even if I don’t score free tickets (which I really would like, please and thank you) I wanna go see this!
Hell yes. I’d go just for TSHC, but the Dirt Daubers as well!? Excellent.
