Win FREE TIX to Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion @ Caffe Lena on Sunday
Carrying on the timeless musical legacy of her grandfather Woody and dad Arlo, Sarah Lee Guthrie and her husband/musical partner Johnny Irion will be rolling into Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs on Sunday evening to wrap up the Caffe’s 52nd anniversary weekend celebration.
Sarah Lee & Johnny are touring in support of their latest album, “Bright Examples,” a very nifty batch of country-folk-rock tunes co-produced by Andy Caleb (of Vetiver) and Thom Monahan (the Pernice Brothers).
Yes, their folk roots run deep, but the husband and wife team continue to branch out and explore a wide variety of genres. For example, they recently collaborated with Bay Area producers the Rondo Brothers on a project dubbed U.S. Elevator. Their debut EP features a deliciously swirling electro-pop rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s “All Through the Night” and a fab harmony-filled, Fleetwood Mac-ish take on Liz Phair’s “Never Said.”
Sarah Lee & Johnny hit the stage at Caffe Lena at 7pm on Sunday. Tix are $18 in advance; $20 at the door.
