Real Good for FREE: The Summer Sounds of Salem
The annual Summer Sounds of Salem concert series returns to Salem once again this summer, but it will be moving to a new location – the green next to the Train Depot on Main Street (Route 22). The series begins on Memorial Day weekend and continues every Saturday from 11am-1pm straight through to Labor Day weekend.
Here’s the schedule of music for the 2012 season:
MAY 26: Phil Hoyt (original and traditional country music)
JUNE 2: Bernice Lewis (folk singer-songwriter)
JUNE 9: Cradle Switch (folk and bluegrass)
JUNE 23: The Saloonatics (Ron Olsen, Scott Greene and Fred Lantz cover everyone from Gershwin to Hendrix.
JUNE 30: Bread and Bones (traditional acoustic trio)
JULY 7: The Wildwood Bluegrass Band (from Bill Monroe and Alison Krauss to Merle Haggard and the Beatles)
JULY 14: Buck2Fifty (New Orleans-style band)
JULY 21: The Barefoot Boys (Adirondack folk music)
JULY 28: Dana & Susan Robinson (mountain music)
AUGUST 4: Woodchucks Revenge (traditional and contemporary folk songs)
AUGUST 11: Bob Beaver (classic rock)
AUGUST 18: Nathan Knowles (songs from John Prine and Steve Earle to Louis Armstrong and Van Morrison)
AUGUST 25: Dafe Brudajo (blues-jazz standards and originals)
SEPTEMBER 1: Al & Kathy Bain (husband-and-wife country duo)
