Festival Fever: East Durham Irish Festival, 5/26-27/12

This weekend the 35th annual East Durham Irish Festival takes over the M.J. Quill Irish Cultural & Sports Centre in East Durham for two days of all things Celtic.

The fest features two stages and more than a dozen bands including Barley Juice, Searson, the Fenians, Hair of the Dog, Shilelagh Law, the Canny Brothers, Jameson’s Revenge, the Andy Cooney Band, the Kitty Kelly Band, Kilrush, Brothers Flynn, Driscoll & Smith, St. James Gate, the City of Albany Pipe Band and the Michael Farrell School of Irish Stepdancing.

The children’s area will feature music, storytelling and stepdance instruction and demonstrations.

The music starts at 11:15am on Saturday and at 10:15am on Sunday. Camping is free.

Daily tix are $12 in advance; $14 if purchased at the gate before 2pm; and $16 at the gate if purchased after 2pm. Children under 12 are free.
