It’s a perfect summertime match – barbecue & blues.

At 12noon on Saturday (June 2), Pauly’s Hotel in Albany is hosting the inaugural Ribbin’ & Blues BBQ Bash, teaming up with the award-winning Capital Q Smokehouse.

The indoor/outdoor event will feature performances by Nippertown blues favorites Scotty Mac & the Rockin’ Bonnevilles, Joe Lowry & the Second Mile Blues Band and Folding Sky, with special guest appearances by Charlie Smith and “Blue Hand” Luke McNamee.

“We’re trying to do something that nobody’s doing in Albany,” says John Mancini, owner of Pauly’s Hotel. “We’re trying to bring some attention to the great live blues we have in this region.”

The big bash begins at 12noon on Saturday, and admission is free.

Now you’re talking! After the disappointing announcements for the Guilderland and Troy free concert series, this one wakes me up.
