Real Good for Free: Troy’s Rockin’ On the River Concert Series
The Downtown Troy Business Improvement District and the City of Troy have announced the schedule for this summer’s Tribute Bands on the River, I mean, Rockin’ on the River concert series, which will take place from 5-8:30pm on Wednesday evenings beginning on June 20 with Hair of the Dog.
The free rain-or-shine concerts take place in the Green Island Bridge Parking lot in the Hedley Entertainment District, just north of the Green Island Bridge.
Here’s the full schedule for the summer of 2012:
June 20: Hair of The Dog (Irish Night)
June 27: Aquanett (’80s rock and roll)
July 11: 7 Bridges (Eagles tribute band)
July 18: Bad Medicine (Bon Jovi tribute band)
July 25: The Dave Matthews Tribute Band (oh, you figure it out)
August 1: Who’s Bad (Michael Jackson tribute band)
August 8: Skeeter Creek (Country night)
August 15: Blues for Breakfast (Grateful Dead tribute band)
August 22: Changes in Latitudes (Jimmy Buffet tribute band)
August 29: Blue Hand Luke (Rockin’ Troy party band)

Ha! I didn’t get the “Tribute Bands on the River” bit, read the lineup, thought to myself “Wow, Tons ‘o Tributes”, re-read your intro and laughed.

I’m still waiting for an announcement on the line up for Troy’s River Street Festival on June 16. Last year’s bill Of Los Straightjackets, The Neanderthals, Blotto and Graham Tichy would be hard to beat, but after seeing the schedule listed above, I’m afraid to look!
