How about Loudon Wainwright III at 8pm on Thursday, August 2 ($25 in advance; $30 at the door)? Or maybe Cowboy Junkies at 8om on Tuesday, August 13 ($45 in advance; $55 at the door)? Other new shows on Helsinki’s calendar include Jonah Smith (with Doug Wamble) at 9pm on Friday, July 6 ($15); Colombian psychedelic band Bomba Estereo at 9pm on Saturday, July 21 ($15); mariachi-inspired indie folk band Y La Bamba at 9pm on Friday, August 31; and singer-songwriter Dar Williams at 9pm on Thursday, September 13 ($25).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Taylor Swift will be the special guest for James Taylor’s concert on Monday, July 2, the first of his three-night stand at Tanglewood in Lenox.

A few new shows have been added to the back-to-school fall calendar at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park. Seether is slated to rock the house on Tuesday, September 18, with Sick Puppies, Kyng and Young Guns opening the show at 7pm. ($29.50). Meanwhile, jam band fave Keller Williams is returning to Nippertown for a show at 9pm on Friday, September 21 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door). Tix for both shows go on sale at 10am on Friday (June 22).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Morrissey is headed into the Palace Theatre in Albany in October. Tix go on sale at 10am on Friday (June 22).

Ska pioneers the Skatalites are bringing their current tour to Red Square in Albany on Saturday, June 30. The Big Takeover will open the show at 9pm. Tix are $17 in advance; $20 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg in Albany has added three more new concerts to its upcoming calendar – including the Punch Brothers, the Robert Glasper Experiment and Leo Kottke.

There’s been no official word yet from the College of St. Rose in Albany, but… according to Medeski Martin & Wood’s web site, the prog-jam-jazz trio will be making a stop at the campus’ Massry Center for the Arts on Saturday, October 6, as part of their fall acoustic tour. We’ll have the details right here, as soon as they’re announced.

The DiGiallonardo Sisters will be the musical guests, joining Garrison Keillor and the rest of the cast of “A Prairie Home Companion” when the show comes to Tanglewood in Lenox on Saturday, June 30.
